Mr. Melvin Kenneth Robinson, 74, a resident of Ozark, died Saturday, September 7, 2019, following an extended battle with lung cancer.


Funeral services for Mr. Robinson will be held 10:00 A.M. Saturday, September 14, 2019, from St. Rose Baptist Church in Skipperville with Reverend Jerry Bennett officiating, Holman Funeral Home and Cremations of Ozark directing.  The family will receive friends at the funeral home in Ozark Friday, September 13, 2019, from 5:00 P. Melvin Kenneth Robinson was born on November 15, 1944 to the late Buster and Virginia Robinson. He was a caring brother to his surviving siblings: Joseph, Martha, and Gloria; to the belated: Willie Roy, Buster Jr., Jessie, Lois, Sweetie B, and Cecilia Mae.


He came from humble beginnings and always understood the value of kindness and hard work. In 1962, he graduated from D.A. Smith High School and excelled in his studies. Throughout the years, he worked in railroad, construction, commercial driving and manufacturing industries.


On July 7, 1964 he married the late Carolyn Robinson in Quincy, Florida. This union gave him his three surviving daughters: Angie, Katrina, and Karen. He was also father to Roy Williams, Jewel Flowers and Regina Campbell. He was a loving and devoted grandfather to his numerous grandchildren including: Jacqualyn, Tremayne, Tristan, and special friend, Maurice “Reba” Hobdy.


Although he was preceded in death by his daughters: Cassandra, Pearl, and Dorothy as well as his granddaughter, Maria; he leaves behind a host of loving family members and friends.


He loved serving the Lord, attending church faithfully, spending quality time with family, fishing, carpentry and auto mechanic work, as well as watching television sitcoms.


The family thanks his many faithful nieces, nephews, great grandchildren, friends, kind neighbors of the Ozark community, and the exceptional staff at SAMC Hospital and Oakview Manor Nursing Home.
