Mr. Michael Kane Post, 64, of Geneva, Alabama passed away September 3, 2014 after a bravely fought battle with cancer. Mr. Post was born in Wisconsin to the late Judson Henry Post, II and the late Jean Louise Kane Post.

He is survived by his wife, Cynthia Capshaw Post of Geneva; a daughter, Kimberly Post Costley of Buford, Ga., two step daughters, Traci Simmons (Garrick) of Wesley Chapel, FL. and Wendy Clark (Tracy) of Umatilla, FL.; four grandchildren, Grant Costley and Anna Grace Costley, both of Buford, Ga., Garrett Clark, Tanner Clark, both of Umatilla, FL.; his brother, Judson Henry Post, III; and his sister, Stevie Kaufman, both of Chattanooga, Tenn. Anyone that had the pleasure of knowing Mike will remember his infectious smile, his passion for life, and his adventurous spirit. Mike loved people and took great satisfaction in discussing books, articles and current events. He was a great storyteller as well. Devoted Husband, Father, Stepfather and Grandfather, he was a giver of his time who lived in the moment and valued family most of all. Early in his life, Mike proudly served in the United States Navy. He accomplished much in his career as Database Administrator and retired with CCCI at Southern Company in Birmingham, AL in August 2013. Michael Kane Post was a remarkable man who will live on through the lives of everyone he has touched.

A private Celebration of Life ceremony will be held at a later date.
