Mr. Morris C. Wash Jr. (Pete), of Dothan passed away Thursday, July 22, 2021, at the age of 90. 

A Celebration of Life Service will be held at 11 A.M. Saturday, September 25, 2021 at the First United Methodist Church of Dothan with Pastor Lynn Nesbitt officiating.

The family will receive friends at the church from 10:30 to 11 A.M. Saturday, prior to the service.

Pete was born April 26, 1931 in central Virginia to the late Morris, Sr. (Jim) and Mary Williams Wash. He was a member of FUMC in Dothan. He and his late wife, Mary, started Wash’s Country Store in Varina, Virginia in 1954. They owned and operated this business until they retired to Venice, Fl. in 1984. There he enjoyed making up for all the golf he had denied himself the 30 years he was running the store 7 days a week. They moved to Dothan in 2007 to be near family.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife of 63 years, Mary, his son, Rick, and his grandson, Chris.

Survivors include his brother, Norman (Barbara), his “favorite” daughter-in-law, Mary, 3 grandchildren, Alaina (Kelli), William (Ilana), Candice, 6 great-grandchildren, Liam (18 years of age), Aidan (!7 years of age), Sydney (17 years of age), Maggie (15 years of age), Joey (13 years of age) and Maya (10 months old), as well as numerous sisters and brothers-in-laws, nieces and nephews.

In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to First United Methodist Church/FUNC Walton Memorial Garden Fund, 1380 West Main Street, Dothan, Al.
