Mr. Neal Gene Brown of Samson passed away Thursday, October 2, 2014 at Flowers Hospital. He was 86. 

Funeral services will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Monday, October 6 in the chapel of Sorrells Funeral Home with Bro. Danny Branch officiating. Burial will follow in the Reese Baptist Church Cemetery in Samson with Sorrells Funeral Home & Crematory of Geneva directing. The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Sunday from 2:00 until 4:00 p.m. 

Mr. Brown was born April 30, 1928 in Ft. Myers, FL to the late William Frank and Ollie Albritton Brown. Neal was a retired cowboy who enjoyed his life as a Cattle Rancher in South Florida and Alabama. He was a member of First Baptist Church in Immokalee, FL. 

In addition to his parents, three sisters and six brothers all of Immokalee, FL preceded him in death. 

Survivors include his wife of 65 years, Betty Jo Clifton Brown, Samson; one daughter, Joanne Herrin, her husband, Harold and one son, Gary Brown, his wife, Pam all of Samson; four grandchildren: Tracy and Larry Wayne Demere, Michael and Sasha Herrin, Booger Brown and Christina Brown; four great-grandchildren: Morgan Herrin, Amy and Matthew Smallwood, Gabriel Herrin and Trisha Demere; one great-great-grandchild, Kelly Ann Smallwood; one brother, David Brown, Dozier, AL; extended family and friends.
