CHALKHEAD COMMUNITY… Mr. Olen C. Grantham, a resident of the Chalkhead Community, near Ozark, died early Monday evening, July 25, 2022, at his home. He was 86.

            Graveside services will be held at 10:00 A.M. Thursday, July 28, 2022, in the Chalkhead Baptist Church Cemetery with Reverend Michael Woodham officiating. The family will receive friends from 9:00 until 10:00 A.M. Thursday in the church sanctuary. Fuqua Bankston Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.

            Mr. Grantham, son of the late Comer Grantham and Mamie Mallory Grantham, was a native of the Ewell Community, near Ozark. He was retired as the owner and operator of Grantham Well Repair. Mr. Grantham served in the 131^st Tank Battalion of the Alabama Army National Guard in Ozark. He was a member of Chalkhead Baptist Church where he served as a deacon. Mr. Grantham was preceded in death by his wife, Ruth Joyner Grantham, a daughter-in-law, Sharon Denise Grantham.

            Surviving relatives include a daughter, Maleah Grantham Benefield (Donnie), Texasville; three sons, Tony Grantham, Ozark, Terry Grantham, Abbeville, and Tyler Grantham, Echo Community; a sister, Faye Tharpe (Lee W.), Echo Community; a grandson, Flynt Grantham; two great-grandchildren, Farrah Grantham and Emmarae Benefield; nieces, nephews, and other relatives.

            Serving as active pallbearers will be Daniel Woodham, Paul Woodham, Stan Powers, Brian Powers, Charles Strickland, and Robert Dyson.
