Mr. Orel H. “Lennie” Lee of Samson, Alabama passed away Wednesday, December 28, 2011.  He was 73.

Funeral services will be 3:00 p.m. Saturday, December 31, 2011 in the chapel of Sorrells Funeral Home in Geneva with Rev. Michael Douglas officiating.  Burial will follow in the Travelers Rest Cemetery with Sorrells Funeral Home of Geneva directing.  The family will receive friends at the funeral home Friday, December 30, from 6 until 8 p.m.

Mr. Lee was born December 12, 1938 in Geneva County to the late Sol and Lillie Patrick Lee.  He was a 1957 graduate of Samson High School and he loved Alabama football. Lennie was a loving husband and father.  He was a very honest person and dearly loved his family. After many years of service as an aircraft mechanic he retired with DynCorp at Ft. Rucker.  He attended Piney Grove Baptist Church.  He and his wife Peggy would have celebrated 50 years of marriage on February 16.

 In addition to his parents a great-grandson, Michael Rayne Owens, preceded him in death.

 Survivors include his wife, Peggy Sasser Lee of Samson; two sons: Glen D. Lee, Atmore, AL, Bill Lee, England; one daughter, Lisa G. Lee, Samson; one brother, Robert L. “Lonnie” Lee, TX; four grandchildren: Hannah G. Stanley, Haley and Zachary Owens and Chelsea Lee; two great-grandchildren: Trayton Stanley, Kaydon Owens and a little girl expected to be born in May.
