Mr. Oyer B. Trim of Samson passed away on September 25, 2023 at his home surrounded by his loving family. He was 92.

 Funeral services will be on Thursday, September 28, 2023 at 10:00 a.m. in the chapel of Warren Holloway Ward Funeral Home with Rev. Donnie Earles officiating. Burial will follow in Earlytown Church of Christ Cemetery with Warren Holloway Ward Funeral Home of Geneva directing. The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Wednesday, September 27, 2023 from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m.

Mr. Trim was born on November 21, 1931 in Holmes County, FL on to the late Bascum D. and Lula Scott Trim. He was a loving father, grandfather and great-grandfather. He proudly served his country for 20 years in the US Air Force. He was affectionately known as “Santa Claus” with his long and flowing white beard. He was a hard worker, an accomplished mechanic, enjoyed tinkering and working on things. There wasn’t anything that he couldn’t “fix”.  He enjoyed growing a vegetable garden and sharing with family and friends. He was a wonderful provider and totally devoted to his family.

 In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Carol J. Trim; one daughter, Nancy R. Trim Brock and one brother, Edmond Trim.

Mr. Trim is survived by one son, Michael O. Trim, two daughters, Nina C. Trim and Nadis T. Trim, all of Samson, AL; ten grandchildren, Bazel O. Trim(Rebeka)of Samson, AL, Billy Joe Trim of Florala, AL, Pamela Kaye Helms (Elizabeth) of Samson, AL, Arcus O. Helms of Geneva, AL, Elizabeth N.C. Starling of  Samson, AL, Natasha Joan Simmons ,Rusty Dwain Simmons, and LaNina Jean Sasser all of Samson, AL, Johnny D. Trim (Oma) and Jammie Nolin (Billy) all of Geneva, AL; a number of great grandchildren and great great grandchildren; one brother, Randall D. Trim of Samson, AL; sister-in-law, Doris Bedsole of Ozark, AL and numerous nieces, nephews and extended family and friends..
