Mr. Paul Douglas “Doug” Davis of Samson passed away Sunday, November 27, 2011.  He was 55.  Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m. Tuesday, November 29, 2011 at Piney Grove Baptist Church with the Rev. Michael Douglas officiating.  Burial will follow in the church cemetery with Pittman Funeral Home of Samson directing.  The family will receive friends at the church from 1:00 p.m. until time for funeral services.  Flowers will be accepted or donations may be made to the Piney Grove Baptist Church Building Fund.

 

Mr. Davis was born December 15, 1955 in Geneva County to Donald Wayne & Johnnie Merle Hall Davis.  He graduated from Samson High School and was a farmer and cattleman in the Samson community.  Preceding him in death was his father, Donald Wayne Davis and his son-in-law, Kevin Gibbs.

 

Survivors include his mother, Johnnie Davis of the Piney Grove Community; two sons, Johnathan (Niki) Davis of the Piney Grove Community and Steven (Samantha) Davis of Granbury, TX; one daughter, Elizabeth “Beth” Gibbs of Samson; two sisters, Susan “Susie” Harris (Danny) of the Piney Grove Community and Lisa Gilbert (Morris) of Pensacola, FL; grandchildren, BreAnna Gibbs, Savannah Gibbs, Wes Davis, Christa Davis, DeAnna Gibbs, Seth Gibbs, Brice Davis, and Maggie Davis, and Wyatt Davis; one nephew, Kyle Harris and one niece, Casey Gilbert.
