Mr. Clifton Eugene “Pete” Mock, Sr. of Samson passed away at his residence on Tuesday, February 17, 2015.  He was 76.  Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m. Thursday, February 19, 2015 in the chapel of Pittman Funeral Home in Samson with Rev. Wendall Ard officiating.  Burial will follow in Travelers Rest Cemetery with Pittman Funeral Home of Samson directing.  The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Wednesday, February 18, 2015 from 6:00 until 8:00 p.m.

Mr. Mock was born in Elba, Ala. on April 16, 1938 to the late William Henry Eugene “Gene” Mock and Mattie Pearl Hudson.  His mother died at a young age and he was raised by his father and step-mother, Lorene Stanton Mock.  He loved his dogs, gardening, “junking” and anything to do outside.  He was preceded in death by his brother, Jerry Mock.

He is survived by his wife of twenty-nine years, Barbara Mock of Samson; son, Clifton Eugene Mock of New Brockton; daughter, Amanda Kaye Smith of Samson; three grandchildren, William Benjamin Eugene Mock (Shuronda) of Geneva, Kristi Jo Mock of Eufaula and Landon Foy Smith of Samson; great grandchildren, Cody Pete Mock, Dalton Mock and Destiny Mercedes Mock, all of Geneva; four brothers, Jim Mock (Kitty) of Samson, Jack Mock (Foye) of Kinston, Charlie Mock, Ray Mock (Diane); three sisters, Lavella Ward Shaw (Billy), Linda Gayle Ward and Barbara Graham (Johnny); all of Samson; and several nieces, nephews and friends.
