   Mr. Philip Edward “Phil” Paramore, a resident of Ozark, died Thursday, March 16, 2023. He was 62 years old.


   Funeral services for Mr. Paramore will be held 3:00 P.M. Monday, March 20, 2023, in the Chapel of Holman Funeral Home in Ozark with Reverend Sonny Moore officiating. Interment will follow in Ariton Cemetery, Holman Funeral Home of Ozark directing.


   The family will receive friends at the funeral Home in Ozark Monday from 1:00 P.M. until service time.


   Mr. Paramore was born September 21, 1960 in Ozark, Alabama. He graduated from Ariton High School and studied journalism at Auburn University until 1982. His first job in journalism was with the Dothan Eagle where he worked for over thirty years as a staff writer, editor and columnist. He worked with WOOF Radio for over twenty years including the Talking With Phil Show, with WDHN as a sports reporter and co-host of the Larry Blakeney Show for eight years. He was a member of the Dothan Rotary Club and Sigma Phi Epsilon Fraternity at Auburn University. Phil enjoyed fishing, playing the piano and playing golf. He was a member of the Bucks Gulf Group.


   Survivors include his fiancé, Carolyn Laney of Ozark; his mother, Trena Tyler Paramore of Ariton; his father, Noah Derrell Paramore (Marylin) of Ariton; one sister, Bethany Phillips (Michael) of Ariton; one brother, Michael Paramore (Traci) of Dothan; one niece, Hayden Paramore of Dothan; two nephews, Chase Paramore (Yadira) of Forest City, Iowa and Noah Phillips of Ariton; one aunt, Audrey Ivey of Clio; and one cousin, Amanda Ivey of Clio.


   Flowers will be accepted or memorials may be made in his memory to Ariton Cemetery Fund, C/O Laura Walker, P. O. Box 644, Ariton, Alabama 36311.
