ARITON…. Mr. Philip Glenn McCort, a resident of Ariton, died late Wednesday afternoon, July 29, 2020 at his home. He was 58.

            Graveside services will be held at a later date in Huntsville Memory Gardens, Huntsville, Alabama. Fuqua Bankston Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.

            In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the American Heart Association, 10 Glenlake Pkwy NE South Tower, Suite 400, Atlanta, GA 30328.

            Mr. McCort, son of the late Curtis Glenn McCort and Judith Claire Sargent McCort, was a native of Cleveland, Ohio. He formerly lived Youngstown, OH, New Orleans, LA, Dallas, TX, Atlanta, GA, Huntsville, AL, before moving to Ariton in 2013. Mr. McCort was retired as a long haul and short haul truck driver. He was a veteran of the United States Army and was a member of the Ariton Baptist Church.

            Surviving relatives include his three brothers, Paul McCort and wife, Sara; John Daniel “Dan” McCort and wife, Carol and Tom McCort (Lt. Col., United States Army) and wife, Rachel; nieces and nephews, Peter, Rebecca, Ben, Chris, Haley, and Brennan.
