Mr. Richard Atlas Williams, age 82, of Dothan, passed away Sunday, February 2, 2020.
Richard was born July 14, 1937 in Brewton, Alabama to the late James Atlas Williams and Mabel Bonner Williams. He served his country in the United States Marine Corps. Richard enjoyed fishing and working in the yard, especially riding his lawn mower. He loved to eat and loved playing with his grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
In addition to his parents, Richard is preceded in death by his brother, David Bonner Williams.
Survivors include his wife of 57 years, Erma Williams; his sons, Mike (April) Williams and Richard Alan (Ellen) Williams; his daughter, Rhea (Mike) Williams; his grandchildren, Mason Williams, Elizabeth Williams, Hannah Williams, and Galen Evans; his great-grandchildren, Sarah Williams, Caroline May, Emmalyn Vickers, and Lily Vickers; his sisters, Joann Walker Blagg and Angeline McLemore; numerous other relatives and friends.
Funeral services will be held at 1 PM, Monday, February 3, 2020 at the Ward Wilson Funeral Home Chapel with Dr. Ricky Plummer officiating. Burial will follow in Memory Hill Cemetery.
The family will receive friends from 12 PM until 1 PM, Monday, February 3, 2020 at Ward Wilson Funeral Home, prior to the service.
