Robert Earl Danford, a resident of Dothan, died Sunday, January 28, 2024 at Flowers Hospital. He was 85.
Memorial services will be held at 2 PM Saturday, February 17, 2024 at Malvern Baptist Church with Reverend Hosea Parker officiating. The family will receive friends at the church immediately following the service.
Robert was born January 11, 1939 in Houston County, Alabama to the late David and Rada Lashley Danford. He served four years in the United States Air Force as an Airman 1st Class. After returning to Dothan in 1968, Robert owned and operated Danford Auto Service. Both of his sons, Earl and Patrick, worked for him for several years during their teens. In 1994 Earl joined him in the business until Roberts retirement in 2007. He loved Alabama football, fishing with his wife and tinkering in his shop.
Robert is preceded in death by his parents and siblings, Mertic Danford, Othell Herring, Leonard Danford, CL Danford and Wayne Danford.
Survivors include his wife of 43 years, Ann Danford; sons, Earl and Tammy Danford, Patrick and Angie Danford; grandchildren, Mallory Searcy (Bo), Kyle Danford, Matthew Danford and Andrew Danford, sister in law, Marlies Eichhorn (Willi).
