Mr. Roland Ulysses Bierstedt of Geneva, Alabama formerly of Wisconsin went home to be with his Lord and Savior Tuesday, October 09, 2012.  He was 83.


 


Funeral services will be 2:00 p.m. Friday, October 12, in the Hartford Community Church with Rev. Hughvon King officiating.  The family will receive friends at the church on Friday beginning at 1:00 p.m. and continue until service time. Burial will follow at the Wisconsin Memorial Park in Brookfield, WI at a later date.  Sorrells Funeral Home of Geneva is in charge of local arrangements.


 


Mr. Bierstedt was born March 21, 1929 in Cortland, Nebraska to the late Henry and Bertha Montgomery Bierstedt.  He was a very giving person.  He loved people and he received his blessing by helping anyone in need.  His first loved was his Lord and Savior followed by his dearly departed wife, Charlotte Faundry Bierstedt. He was a veteran of the U.S. Army and he attended Hartford Community Church.


 


In addition to his parents and his wife, his only child, Kenneth Bierstedt, along with five siblings, Russell, Wilber, Hartzelle, Izzabelle and Loraine preceded him in death.


 


Survivors include his daughter-in-law and caregiver, Darlene A. Hall; special friend, Teresa Andrews; four grandchildren: Lance, Adam, Bryan and Christina Bierstedt; ten great-grandchildren; three siblings, Orville, Marline and Marvelle; several nieces, nephews, other extended family and friends.


 


The family would like to say a special thank you to Gentiva Hospice for their love and support and the great care that was given to their Dad.
