Mr. Ronald (Ronnie) Curtis Mims, age 72, a lifelong resident of Dothan, died Saturday, March 5, 2022, at his residence.

Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Tuesday, March 8, 2022, at the Glover Funeral Home Chapel with Dr. Jerry Hall officiating.  Burial will follow in the Gardens of Memory Cemetery with Glover Funeral Home directing.

The family will be receiving friends from 12:30 p.m. until 1:45 p.m. Tuesday prior to services at the Glover Funeral Home Chapel.  Flowers will be accepted or memorial contributions may be made to Libby’s Light Shines, 301 Glencoe Way, Dothan, AL. 36305 or to Luke’s Legacy, In care of Gary and Emily Richards, 4313 S. Co. Rd. 49, Slocomb, AL. 36375.

Mr. Mims was born on November 12, 1949, in Dothan the son of Henry Curtis Mims and Mary Frances Childs Mims.  Ronnie was owner/operator of Tom’s Food/ Dixie Snax for 30 years; he then worked for 8 years with Wiregrass Hospice as facilities manager and for the past 12 years he was with Quality Control with Covan World-Wide Moving.  He was a Dothan High School Graduate of 1968 and received his Associate’s Degree from Wallace College.  Ronnie attended Maranatha Baptist Church for 37 years.

He was preceded in death by his parents, grandson, Parker Ellison Mims, and a brother, Todd Mims.

Survivors include wife of 52 years, Mavis Park Mims, Dothan; two sons, Chad Mims (Allyson), Dothan; Ryan Mims (Christy), Fulshear, Tx.; five grandchildren, Addison Mims, Harrison Mims, Kaley Mims, Tyler Mims, and Maggie Mims; nephew, Wyn Mims, Dothan; six sisters-in-law, Paige Mims Heffner (Rob), Dothan; Carolyn Burgess (Mack), Midland City; Merylon Bagwell, Ozark; Evelyn Waters (Jim), Pinckard; Shirley Taylor (Ronnie), Pinckard; Sylvia Richards, Enterprise; two brothers-in-law, Tommy Park, Pinckard; William Park, Newton; several nieces and nephews.

Active pallbearers will be: Addison Mims, Harrison Mims, Tyler Mims, Wyn Mims, Tommy Whitehead, and Glen Davis.

Honorary pallbearers will be: Ronnie Taylor, Jim Waters, Tommy Park, William Park, and Mack Burgess.
