   Mr. Samuel “Sam” A. Carr, a resident of Ozark passed away Wednesday, September 15, 2022, in Jackson Hospital, Montgomery, Alabama. He was 70 years old.


   A Celebration of Life service will be held 2:00 P.M. Monday, September 19, 2022, in the Chapel of Holman Funeral Home in Ozark with Chaplain Major Raymond Moncrief (USAF Retired) officiating, Holman Funeral Home of Ozark directing.


   The family will receive friends at the funeral home in Ozark Monday from 1:00 P.M. until service time.


   Sam was born on December 30, 1951 in Thomaston, GA to the late Frank and Gladys Tomlin Carr. He was retired from Ozark Utilities where he was employed for 34 years. Sam enjoyed hunting and watching Alabama football.


   In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his sister, June Carr; his brothers, Wayne Carr, James M. Carr, Larry F. (Belinda) Carr and Ronald L. Carr.


   Survivors include his wife, Teresa Carr; two daughters, Shannon (Allen) Searcy of Ozark and Kaylyn (Chad) Bevis of Spring Hill, TN; two grandchildren, Collin (Jordan) Searcy of Ozark and Olivia Searcy of Ozark; great granddaughter, Clara Collins Searcy of Ozark; sister, Judy Sitz (Bobby) of Ozark and several nieces and nephews. He also leaves behind three special fur babies, Annie, Ellie Mae, Delilah and granddog, Jade.


   In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Ozark-Dale County Humane Society, P. O. Box 2502, Ozark, AL 36361.
