Mr. Stevey Oppolis Mercer, a resident of Newton, died Tuesday, July 20, 2021, in Flowers Hospital.  He was 61 years old.

A memorial service for Mr. Mercer will be held at a later date. However, condolences may be expressed at www.HolmanFuneralHome.com   

Mr. Mercer was born June 13, 1960 to the late Willie J. Mercer and Mary Polly Senn Mercer. He was a native of Newton and attended Dale County High School.  Mr. Mercer worked in the agriculture business around the Newton area and was also an over-the-road truck driver and dump truck operator.  He was an avid fisherman.

Survivors include his sister and brother-in-law, Patricia and Wayland Turner of Newton; one brother and sister-in-law, Perry and Virginia Mercer of Ozark.
