Obituary: Mr. Thomas “Tommy” Alexander Smith Jr.


 


Mr. Thomas “Tommy” Alexander Smith Jr. of Clanton passed away Sunday, February 2, 2020. He was 83. 


A Celebration of Life Service will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Wednesday, February 5, 2020 in the chapel of Sorrells Funeral Home in Slocomb with Minister Mark Turner officiating. 


The family will receive friends at the funeral home Wednesday from 1:00 p.m. until service time. 


Mr. Smith was born January 19, 1937 in Manchester, Connecticut to the late Thomas A. Smith Sr. and Jean O’Flynn Smith.  Tommy enjoyed boating, fishing, and was an avid Alabama football fan!  He never met a stranger and was always piddling on something.  He loved to eat and enjoyed spending time with his family. 


In addition to his parents, his wife, Martha Jean Smith; son, Kevin Smith all preceded him in death. 


Survivors include his children: Linda Harden (Tim), Thomas A. Smith III, Michael John Smith (Nan), and Kenneth Wayne Smith (Mileidy); 11 grandchildren, 13 great grandchildren with one on the way; sister, Susan Holcomb (Dennis); nieces, nephews, and other extended family and friends.
