NEWTON… Timothy Wayne “Timmy” Dillard, a resident of Newton, died early Friday afternoon, January 26, 2024, in a Dothan hospital. He was 62.


            Funeral services will be held at 3:00 P.M. Monday, January 29, 2024, in the Bethel Baptist Church in Newton with Mr. Bimbo Turner officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery.  Fuqua Bankston Funeral Home of Ozark is in charge of arrangements. The family will receive friends and family from 2:00 until 3:00 P.M. Monday at the church.


            Mr. Dillard, son of the late Clarence Joseph Dillard and Jeanette Story Dillard, was a native of Newton. He was a 1979 Graduate of Dale County High School in Midland City. Mr. Dillard retired from Frito Lay Corporation as a route manager after twenty-nine years of gainful employment. He was a member of the Bethel Baptist Church. Mr. Dillard was preceded in death by a son, Timothy Lee Dillard, a sister, Donna Dillard Prescott, and two brothers, Danny Dillard and Randy Dillard.


            Surviving relatives include his wife, Dana Mahaney Dillard, Newton; daughter, Felicia Ward (Seth), Echo Community; son, Paul Dillard, Newton; granddaughter, Addison Ward; his sister, Vicky Smith, Rehobeth; numerous beloved nieces, nephews, and cousins; his lifelong friends whom he considered his brothers, Mark Potts and Earl Blocker.


            Serving as active pallbearers will be Seth Ward, Earl Blocker, Braxton Blocker, Brian Blocker, Mark Potts, and Kyle Henderson.
