OZARK…Mr. Trent McLendon (SPC, Alabama Army National Guard, Retired), a resident of Ozark, died early Sunday morning, February 13, 2022, in a Dothan hospital. He was 35.


            Funeral services, with military honors, will be held at 2:00 P.M. Thursday, February 17, 2022, in the Fuqua Bankston Funeral Home Chapel with Reverend Bobby Peters officiating. The family will receive friends from 1:00 until 2:00 P.M. Thursday at the funeral home. At other times, the family will be at the home of his mother-in-law, Angela Mefford, 168 Houston St., Ozark, AL 36360.


            Trent was born November 6, 1986, in Ozark, Alabama. He formerly lived in Virginia where he was a 2005 Graduate of King George High School, King George, Virginia. Trent was retired from the Alabama Army National Guard. He received his Pharmacy Technician Certificate from Lakewood University, Cleveland Heights, OH. Trent attended Harvest Free Will Baptist Church in Ozark.       


            Surviving relatives include his wife, Megan Mefford McLendon; his children, Sophia McLendon, Annabelle Davis, and Joseph McLendon, all of Ozark; his father, Richard McLendon (Susan), Farnham, VA; mother, Tammy Layton Baker (Steve), Blue Springs; two brothers, Braxton McLendon, Farnham, VA and Dylan Deloney (Whitney), Ozark; grandparents, Thomas Layton, Blue Springs; Shirley Segers, Blue Springs; Eugene and Mildred McLendon, Elamville; father-in-law and mother-in-law, Tony and Angela Mefford, Ozark; brothers-in-law, Todd Mefford (Andrea), Kinston, NC and Zachery Mefford, Wicksburg; numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins survive.
