Wade Allen Glover, passed away peacefully on February 29, 2024, in Dothan, at the age of 90. Born on September 1, 1933, in Midland City, Wade was a man of integrity, warmth, and unwavering kindness, whose generosity and selfless nature touched the lives of all who knew him.

Wade's life was one of dedication and love, most notably reflected in his 67-year marriage to his beloved wife, Jean McKay Glover. Together, they built a family founded on compassion and joy, raising their daughter Lorri Glover and a son of the heart, Seth Brown. Wade's brother, Jerry (Melanie) Horne, along with his special niece and nephew, Kay Gamble and Jim, and nephews Buddy (Mary Lou) Gamble and Bill (Debbie) Gamble, were an integral part of his life. His cousins Peyton Horne and Carey Horne, as well as his extended family at Wallace College and his host of wonderful friends, who were family of the heart, will forever cherish his memory.

Professionally, Wade was a respected figure in the publishing industry, having dedicated over 20 years of his life as a typesetter for Tristate Publishing Company. His passion for the printed word continued as he served for 26 years as a printer at Wallace College, where his meticulous work and commitment to excellence left a lasting legacy.

Wade's life was not all work; he was a man of diverse interests and hobbies. A faithful member of Grimes Methodist Church, he lived his faith through his actions and his unwavering support for his community. An outdoorsman at heart, Wade found solace and joy in hunting and fishing, often sharing these moments with his closest companions. His love for nature extended to his home, where he tended to his flowers and garden with the same care and attention he gave to every aspect of his life, sometimes even using a push plow to maintain his cherished green space.

Wade's adventurous spirit led him to race stock cars at Rocket Speedway, where he shared his love for speed and competition. A sports enthusiast, he enjoyed all types of sports, but he held a special place in his heart for Auburn football, which he followed with fervor. Above all, Wade cherished spending time with his family and friends, creating memories that would last a lifetime.

Wade's legacy is one of unwavering kindness and generosity. His selfless nature was evident in every interaction, and his ability to make each person he met feel valued and loved was a rare gift. He lived his life with a quiet strength and a kind heart, and his impact on the world around him was profound and lasting.

Wade’s family and friends will celebrate his life at 1 PM, Monday, March 4, 2024 at the Ward Wilson Funeral Home Chapel with Dr. Matt Mobley officiating. The family will receive friends from 12 PM until 1 PM, prior to the service at the funeral home.

Wade’s family would like to extend a very special thank you to his caregivers, Mondella Tullis, Kathy Flowers, Patricia Poke, Manisha Underwood, and Vanita Newman as well as the nurses and staff of Covenant Hospice.
