Mr. Wallis Anderson Patterson, age 85, of Dothan, passed away Saturday, June 18, 2022.
Born November 23, 1936 in Coosa County, Alabama to the late Reedy Patterson and O’zeal McGrady Patterson, Wallis enjoyed travelling with his wife, Joyce. He was a member of Harvest Church and loved doting on and spoiling his grandchildren and great-grandchildren. He also enjoyed his weekly lunches with “The Old Buzzards.”
In addition to his parents, Wallis is preceded in death by his daughter, Tina Neathammer; his great-granddaughter, Rebecca Turner; and his sister, Margie Sanford.
Survivors include his wife of 47 years, Joyce Patterson, Dothan, Alabama; his daughters, Connie Boggan (Larry), Birmingham, Alabama, Tracy Mitchell, Pensacola, Florida; his son, Russell Patterson, Gulf Breeze, Florida, his bonus son, Harold Turner (Teresa), Dothan, Alabama; his son-in-law, Rick Neathammer, Birmingham, Alabama; his 14 grandchildren; his eight great-grandchildren, including the apple of his eye, Lilly Turner; several other relatives and friends.
Funeral services will be held at 11 AM, Wednesday, June 22, 2022 at the Ward Wilson Funeral Home Chapel with Reverend Tharel Shirah and Reverend Dane Skipper officiating. The family will receive friends from 10 AM until 11 AM, prior to the service.
Honorary pallbearers will be “The Old Buzzards.”
In lieu of flowers, the family requests that contributions be made to Boy Scouts of America, 6801 West Main Street, Dothan, Alabama 36305 or Harvest Building Fund, 2727 Fortner Street, Dothan, Alabama 36305.
