Mr. Walter Richard Sego Jr. of Samson, AL, passed away Friday, May 31, 2019 at the age of 71.

 

Funeral service will be held 2:00 p.m. Sunday, June 2, 2019 at the Samson First Baptist Church with the Rev. Richard “Richie” Sego officiating. Burial will follow in the Travelers Rest Cemetery with Warren Holloway Ward Funeral Home of Geneva directing.  Visitation will be Sunday beginning at 1:00 p.m. at the Church and continue until service time.

 

Mr. Sego was born January 17, 1948 in Samson, Alabama to the late Walter Richard Sego Sr. and Lois F. Berry Sego.  He was a loving and devoted husband, father and grandfather.  He was a faithful member of the Samson First Baptist Church, a hard worker and served his country in the US Army during the Vietnam War.

 

Preceded in death by his parents; sister; Judy Fay Ingram and brother; Kenneth Sego.

 

He is survived by his wife of 51 years; Mary Sego, Samson, AL; one son; Richie Sego (Julie), Samson, AL; grandchildren; Kaylee Sego Taylor (Andrew), Kari and Kristin Sego; Greatgrandchild; Lucy Taylor; three sisters; Mavis Baxley (William) and Deborah Branch (Danny) of Samson, AL and Willene Reynolds of Lockhart, AL.

 

Serving as Pallbearers; Jerry Bowers, Gary Waters, Ronnie Mock, Wade Seago, Danny Branch and Jeff Branch.
