Mr. William Elbert Matthews, a life-long resident of Ozark, died Sunday, November 7, 2021.  He was 82 years old.

Funeral services will be graveside 10:00 A.M. Wednesday, November 10, 2021, from Southside Baptist Church Cemetery with Reverend Mike Whitt officiating. Interment will follow in the church cemetery, Holman Funeral Home and Cremations of Ozark directing.

Mr. Matthews was born April 12, 1939 in Dale County, Alabama to the late Comer Matthews and Edna Estelle Matthews. He owned and operated Elbert Matthews Cabinet Shop in Ozark for many years until his retirement.  In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Imogene Condrey Matthews.

He is survived by special friends and caregivers, Greg and Liesl Cobb of Ozark; also  several nieces and nephews.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the American Cancer Society, 3054 McGehee Road, Montgomery, Alabama  36111; or to Southern Care Hospice, 2576 Montgomery Hwy – Suite 2, Dothan, Alabama  36303.
