Mr. William Kenneth Walker, a resident of Ozark, died Thursday, December 17, 2020, at his home.  He was 86 years old.


A memorial service for Mr. Walker with Masonic Rites will be held 1:00 P.M. Sunday, December 20, 2020,  from Westview Heights United Methodist Church in Ozark with Reverend Jabe Fincher officiating. Mr. Don McCall will be bringing the Eulogy.  Interment will be in Woodlawn Memory Gardens, Holman Funeral Home and Cremations of Ozark directing. 


Mr. Kenneth Walker was born November 14, 1934, in Skipperville, Alabama to the late William Aaron Walker and Myrtice Stephens Walker.  After graduating from Dale County High School in 1952 he served in the United States Army.  He attended Enterprise State Community College where he received an Associate in Science.  He received his A&P license from the Alabama Institute of Aviation and Technology.  He received a Bachelor of Science in Criminal Justice from Troy University. Mr. Walker worked on the aircraft maintenance contract at Fort Rucker from 1963 until 1997. He was a proud member of the International Association of Machinists and Aerospace Workers Local 2003 where he served as a shop steward for 30 years and he also served on several committees.  He was a representative to the International Aerospace Machinist and Aerospace Workers District Lodge 75 and was a member of the Alabama Chapter of  The American Federation of Labor and Congress of Industrial Organizations.  Mr. Walker’s father, William Aaron Walker, was Sheriff of Dale County and Kenneth worked with the Dale County Sheriff’s Department during that time.  Mr. Walker was a member of Westview Heights United Methodist Church. He was past Worshipful Master of the Ozark Masonic Lodge #908 and he was a  32nd   Degree Scottish Rite Mason. He was the Chairman of the Dale County Democratic Party for several years. He enjoyed playing softball, dominoes and working in the yard with his wife.  Mr. Walker was preceded in death by his parents and an infant brother, Stephen Walker.


Survivors include his wife of 60 years, Edith Dombrowski Walker of Ozark, AL; one daughter, Christa Jones (Gary) of Calhoun, GA; two grandchildren, Ansley Oermann (Brock) of Chattanooga, TN and Elise Jones of Calhoun, GA; two sisters, Loretta Bach of Montgomery, AL and Betty Jo Brannon of Ozark, AL. Several nieces and nephews also survive.


In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Westview Heights United Methodist Church, 512 Camilla Avenue, Ozark, Alabama   36360.
