Mr. William Roy McBride, Jr. of Geneva passed away at his residence on Sunday, October 6, 2013.   He was 75.  A graveside service will be held 3:00 p.m. Wednesday, October 9, 2013 at Sunset Memorial Gardens with Dr. Mike Shirah officiating and Pittman Funeral Home of Geneva directing.  The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Wednesday, beginning at 2:00 p.m.  Flowers will be accepted or donations may be made to the Maple Avenue Baptist Church Building Fund, 1009 W. Maple Ave., Geneva, AL 36340.

Mr. McBride was born in Columbus, Georgia on September 12, 1938 to the late William Roy McBride, Sr. and Jewel Ilene Bass McBride.  He served in the US Navy during the Vietnam War.  Prior to his retirement, Mr. McBride was a retail counselor at Fleming Foods in Geneva for more than twenty-five years.  He was preceded in death by his wife, Marie McBride; and sister, Annette Lenore.

He is survived by two daughters, Kay McBride of Geneva and Liz Nolin (Jason); two grandchildren, Hannah Nolin and Jadon Nolin, all of Cypress, Texas; sister, Gerelda McBride King (Charles) of Phenix City, Ala.; brother, John Michael McBride (Clara) of Cataula, Ga.; and numerous nieces and nephews.
