Mr. Wister Eugene Taylor of Dothan passed away Thursday, November 3, 2022, at the age of 82.

Funeral services will be held at 2 P.M. Saturday, November 19, 2022, at Ward Wilson Funeral Home. Burial will follow in Memory Hill Cemetery with Ward Wilson Funeral Home directing.

The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 1 to 2 P.M. Saturday, November 19, 2022, one hour prior to the service. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to St. Jude.

Mr. Taylor was born February 19, 1940 to the late Reverend Madison Taylor and Juanita Taylor. He was born and raised in Houston County, Alabama. He worked 42 years as a parts manager for John Deere. He loved any sports and officiated sports for 25 years. He coached youth sports and started playing golf later in life and found a new passion. He was a member of Harvest Church.

He is preceded in death by his son Daniel Keith Taylor, brother Wayne Taylor and sister Mavis Taylor.

Mr. Taylor is survived by daughter Norma McKnight (Steve), son Ken Taylor (Linda), sister Sarah Parker (Garland), brothers Tommy Taylor (Barbara), Jimmy Taylor (Jan), grandchildren Jessica Hunt (Erik), Ashley McKnight (Susie), Emrist Mustin (Garrett), Kyle Taylor(Kristin), and 9 great-grandchildren.

Pallbearers will be Kyle Taylor, Ashley McKnight, Erik Hunt, Kayson Taylor Hunt, Garrett Mustin, and Reverend Charlie Jones.

Honorary pallbearers will be Curt Barnes, Ronnie Todd and Howard Holland.
