Mr. Yvonne Earl Cope of Samson passed away Wednesday, August 1, 2012. He was 82. Funeral services will be held at 3:00 p.m. Sunday, August 5, 2012 at First Baptist Church of Samson with the Rev. Sam Totten officiating. Burial will follow in Travelers Rest Cemetery with Pittman Funeral Home of Samson directing. The family will receive friends at the church Sunday beginning at 2:00 p.m. until service time.

Mr. Cope was born July 5, 1930 in Samson to the late Walter Earl and Ora Gilmore Cope. Mr. Yvonne was a loving husband and great neighbor. In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by three sisters, Johnnie Ruth Rushing, Louise Howell, and Marie Springston; two brothers, Fred and Frank Cope.

He is survived by his wife, Bertha Crews Cope of Samson; one sister Mary Jo Hendrix (Wilburn) of Defuniak Springs, FL; one granddaughter, Flecia Lynn Rzoska (Jeffrey) of Goose Creek, SC; three great grandchildren, Kyle Owens (Rebecca), Kayla Owens, and Blake Rzoska; one great great grandchild, Makaila Owens; and many nieces and nephews.
