Barbara Faye Skipper, a resident of Ashford, died Saturday, May 21, 2022, at Southeast Health Medical Center. She was 68.

Funeral services for Mrs. Skipper will be held at 10 AM Thursday, May 26, 2022, in Clearman Chapel at Southern Heritage with Reverend Jessie Hobbs officiating. Burial will follow in Ashford City cemetery. The family will receive friends from 5 PM until 7 PM Wednesday May 25, 2022, at the funeral home.

Barbara was born June 10, 1953, in Houston County, Alabama to the late Marcellus and Janie Chancey Posey. She was a lifelong resident of Ashford, graduated from Ashford High School, retired from the Houston County Probate Office as a Child Support Clerk. Barbara was a woman of faith who loved her family, sewing and will be remembered for her cooking and cakes.

Barbara was preceded in death by her parents and husband, Sam Gordon Skipper.

Barbara is survived by her sons, Dennis Eric Chambers, James Mitchell Chambers (Jessica), Benjamin Chambers, Joey Skipper (Callie); grandchildren, Ashley, Lexi, Sammy, Devin, Brice, Blaisen, Levi, Alex, Cora and Ava; several great grandchildren and a brother, Jimmy Posey (Delores); nephews, Jim and Jeff Posey.
