Bernice Powell, age 82, of Clayton, AL, passed away Sunday, May 10, 2020 at her residence lovingly surrounded by family.

A graveside service will be held on Tuesday, May 12, 2020 at 11:00 A.M.  at Bethlehem Church Cemetery in Louisville. Minister Bobby Wayne Powell will officiate with Glover Funeral Home of Eufaula directing. The graveside service for Mrs. Powell will be live streamed on Glover Funeral Home of Eufaula and Clayton’s Facebook page. The family will receive friends on Monday, May 11th, from 5 until 7 at Glover Funeral Home Chapel in Eufaula.

Mrs. Powell was born on May 23, 1937 in Clayton, AL to the late Luther S. Dykes and Maime Lou Paul Dykes. Mrs. Powell was preceded in death by her parents, husband, Bobby Lee Powell; 5 brothers, Johnny Dykes, Billy Dykes, Derril Dykes, Dean Dykes, J.W. Dykes; and sister Annie Kate Faircloth.

Mrs. Powell was a lively, outspoken woman who loved her family. She had a good heart and would go out of her way to help anyone in need. She was a member of Rhema Baptist Church in Blue Springs.

Survivors include: 2 sons, Bobby Wayne Powell (Debbie), Clayton, Ronald Gene Powell (Tina), McKenzie; 2 daughters, Debra Kay Powell, Ft. Gaines, Ga., Cheryl Lynn Jones (Kerry), Ragland; sister, Sandra Metcalf (Steve), Clayton; eleven grandchildren; 7 great-grandchildren; several nieces and nephews, and her beloved cat, Pumpkin.

Asked to serve as pallbearers are: Hunter Powell, Steven Metcalf, Anthony Powell, Jonathon Tisdale, Kerry Jones and Bubba McCray.
