Mrs. Betty Jo Martin Daughtry, age 93, of Dothan, passed away peacefully on Saturday, August 7, 2021, and went to be with her Lord. She lived a long and fruitful life. May she now rest in peace.
Betty was born in 1928 in Dothan, Alabama to the late Albert James Martin and Esther Branton. She and her late husband of 63 years, Hubert Rudolph (Doc) Daughtry, resided in Dothan, Alabama. Her early career before retiring was as a L.P. N. working for local hospitals and a longer term position working for an ENT physician. Betty and Doc were faithful members over the years of several Baptist Churches in the Dothan area. Her most current membership was at Selma Baptist Church in Dothan.
In her earlier years, she really enjoyed fishing trips and with her husband Doc and Joe, their son. Seeing her grandkids put a smile on her face. She served her community with her husband whenever needed and faithfully provided for her family.
In addition to her parents, Betty is preceded in death by her husband, Hubert Rudolph (Doc) Daughtry; and her brothers, James J. Martin and Frank Martin.
Betty is survived by her son, Joe Daughtry (Terrie); her grandchildren, Stacy Daughtry Belle (Jeff) and Lauren Daughtry Schnepf (Matt); her great-grandchildren, Connor Belle, Caleb Schnepf, Aiden Schnepf, and Everett Schnepf; numerous other relatives and friends.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests that contributions be made to the Taylor Senior Center, 1457 State Highway 605, Taylor, AL 36301.
