NEWTON…Mrs. Betty Jean Jones Pring, a resident of Newton, died early Friday morning, October 29, 2021, at her home. She was 86.


            In keeping with the wishes of the family, there are no public services planned at this time. Fuqua Bankston Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.


            In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Ozark-Dale County Humane Society, P.O. Box 2502, Ozark, Alabama 36361.


            Mrs. Pring, daughter of the late John Paul Jones and Edna Mae Bruce Jones, was a native of Tennessee and moved to Thonotosassa, Florida at an early age. She was a graduate of Plant City High School and was a school bus driver for twenty-five years before retiring. Mrs. Pring’s passion was driving the special needs/handicap bus. She enjoyed painting ceramics and country line dancing. Mrs. Pring was preceded in death by her husband, John Pring.


            Surviving relatives include her daughter, Pamela Cupp (Robert), Tampa, FL; son, John Michael Pring; grandchildren, Christine Pring, Michele Beasley (Joe), Tiffany Beasley, and Bradley Beasley (Lauren); six great-grandchildren; her best friend, Adrin Kebble.
