Obituary from Holman Funeral Home and Cremations – Ozark, AL

“This establishment does not own a crematory.”

Mrs. Betty Treadaway Beasley, a lifelong resident of Newton, Alabama, died after a short illness on Thursday July 19, 2019 while in Atlanta, GA.

Funeral services for Mrs. Beasley will be 2:00 P.M. Friday, July 26, 2019, at Wicksburg Assembly of God Church with Pastor Rickey Devine officiating. Interment will follow in the church cemetery, Holman Funeral Home of Ozark directing.  The family will receive friends at the funeral home in Ozark Thursday from 5:00 P. M. until 7:00 P. M.

Mrs. Beasley started her professional life as a Title 1 teacher at Newton Elementary school working with 1st graders.  She loved those children she called “her babies”.  But she found her true calling as the Secretary/Bookkeeper of Dale County High School where she worked for 30 years.  She loved the children both little and big. She had office aides which allowed her to be around kids and get to know each one and what they were facing in their young life.  Parents of kids at Dale County High School knew Mrs. Beasley would take care of their child and help in any way possible. After retirement, Mrs. Beasley continued to teach.  She taught the Young Adult Sunday School class at Ewell Faith Deliverance Tabernacle Church until Jan 2018.  She was also the Choir Leader at the church for several years. She loved music and loved to sing. Most of all she loved her Heavenly Father and desired to live her life according to his word.   She also was a volunteer Buddy Reader at Newton Elementary School up until 2018.  She worked in her community as you would see her on voting day for any Election in Newton.  She loved to decorate her house and yard for Christmas and many people would wait to see what she might do that year. The Southern Star featured Mrs. Beasley and her home with pictures and a write up of this tradition several years ago .  She loved people and never met a stranger.  She will be greatly missed by her family, friends, and her Kids!!!

She is survived by one daughter, Sandra Browning of Atlanta GA; two brothers, William Paul Treadaway of Taylor, AL and C.B. Treadaway also of Taylor, AL.  She was also survived by her aunt, Naomi Treadaway of Ft. Walton Beach, FL.   Many nieces and nephews also survive.
