Mrs. Carol (Lynne) Tures passed away peacefully on July 20, 2023 after a protracted illness.
She joins her father, Joseph Leader; her mother, Esther Wainstock; her brother, Lawrence Leader; and her loving daughter, Jodi-lyn Couture in heaven.
She is survived by her husband, Gifford Tures; her sons, Gregory, Mark, and Matthew; seven grandchildren; and 10 great-grandchildren.
Lynne was born in Minneapolis, Minnesota and hailed from Bloomington City. She graduated from North High School in 1957 and got married soon afterwards. She dedicated the majority of her life as a committed Air Force wife, full-time mother, and world traveler and lived in, or visited numerous overseas locations including Guam, Taiwan, the Philippines, Thailand, Japan, Germany, Belgium, France, and Spain. She partnered with her husband in a number of entrepreneurial enterprises and was the joint-owner of several successful small businesses including an apartment complex, an ice cream shop, and a convenience store.
She is remembered most fondly for: her ability to strike up a conversation with anyone, her love of books and reading, a love of all things of Scottish or Jewish origin, an “addiction” to on line games, and for her abilities to create beautiful art pieces especially those made from stained glass.
Her family and friends will miss her easy-going manner, her friendly openness, her generosity, and her love.
A service for family and friends will be held at 10 AM, Sunday, July 23, 2023 at Temple Emanu-El with Rabbi Jonathan Jackson officiating. A private family graveside will follow.
