Mrs. Carole Dean Smith McAllister, a resident of Echo, passed away suddenly at her home Thursday, September 9, 2023. She was 64 years old.

In keeping with the wishes of the family, there are no public services planned for Mrs. McAllister. Holman Funeral Home of Ozark has been entrusted with the arrangements.

Mrs. McAllister was born May 8, 1959 in Dale County, Alabama to the late Ernest Foy Smith and Hazel Dean Matthews Smith. Carole owned and operated Systers Home Health in Eufaula for many years. More recently she became disabled and was unable to work. Her greatest joy in life was her family. Carole was an avid Alabama fan. She loved to paint, go fishing, watch classic movies and football games, and eat boiled peanuts with her husband, Ronnie.

While she is gone, she lives on in the hearts of her daughters, grandchildren and all of those who loved her. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Scott McAllister; her brother, Charles Laverne Smith; and two twin infant nephews.

She is survived by her husband of 28 years, Ronnie Weed of Echo; two daughters, Rachel Edwards (Brian) of Ashford and Lindsey Weed of Echo; two granddaughters, Hannah Kate Harrell and Emily Grace Harrell both of Ashford; two sisters, Barbara Deloney (Dan) of Dothan, Jane Leatherwood (Dennis) of Montgomery; her sister-in-law, Gayle Gunter Smith of Ozark; and a multitude of nieces, nephews and their children.
