Mrs. Carolyn Watkins Shehee of Samson, Alabama passed away Tuesday, December 13, 2011.  She was 66.

 

Funeral services will be 1:00 p.m. Saturday, December 17, in the chapel of Sorrells Funeral Home in Geneva with Rev. Jack Chancey officiating.  Burial will follow at 3:00 p.m. in the Hephzibah Baptist Church Cemetery in Troy with Sorrells Funeral Home of Geneva directing. The family will receive friends at the funeral home Friday, December 16, from 6 until 8 p.m.

 

The family asked that flowers be omitted and memorial contributions be made to the Cecil Watkins Cemetery Fund of Hephzibah Baptist Church.

 

Mrs. Shehee was born March 1, 1945 in Pike County to the late William Cecil, Sr. and Esther Rea Bullock Watkins.  For more than 30 years she was employed with the Samson Housing Authority and served as director for more than 20 years.  She was an avid Alabama “Roll Tide” football fan.

 

In addition to her parents, her husband, Jerry Mack Shehee, two brothers, Joel Keith Watkins and William Cecil Watkins, Jr., as well as a sister, Ann Johnson, all preceded her in death.

 

Survivors include one daughter, Jennifer Danley; two sons: Greg Shehee (Dolores), Keith Shehee (Becky), all of Samson; two sisters: Willie Mae Turner (James), Louise Gardner (Larry), all of Troy; two brothers: David Watkins (Robbie), Troy, Paul Watkins (Beth), Destin, FL; seven grandchildren: Kristin Russell (Dennis), Justin Shehee (Deena), Ashley Wood (Chris), Amber Shehee, Kaitlyn Shehee, Dustin Shehee and Summer Hawthorne; three great-grandchildren: Garrett Shehee, Daniel Wood and Wyatt Wood; several nieces, nephews, other extended family and friends.
