Mrs. Catherine Louise Baine Mahan of Samson, AL passed away Thursday, December 09, 2021 at home surrounded by her loving family. She was 80.

 Funeral services will be held at 12:00 p.m. on Monday, December 13, 2021 in the chapel of Warren Holloway Ward Funeral in Geneva, AL with Rev. Jack Chancey officiating. Burial will follow in Travelers Rest Cemetery with Warren Holloway Ward Funeral Home of Geneva directing. The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Monday beginning at 11:00 a.m.

 Louise was born on August 26, 1941 in Geneva Co., AL to the late Talley Clifton and Bama Mae Lawson Baine. She was a loving and devoted wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother and sister. She was known as a very hard-working lady, who enjoyed her flowers and gardening. She owned and operated a nursery for many years. She enjoyed sewing, cooking and taking care of her family.

 In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by three brothers, Q.P., Charles and Danny Baine; two sisters, Maelease Benton and Iris Biddle.

 She is survived by her husband of 40 years, Jesse Lee Mahan, Jr.; three daughters, Janice Creech, Jess Hewes (Greg), Sandy Christian (Bobby); one son, Chip Mahan (Becky); one sister, Barbara Mock; nine grandchildren, Clint Ward (Amanda), Adrian Knowles (Heather), Brian Hewes (Amy), Jenny Hewes (Edgar), Kendal Wilson (Austin), Abbie McPheson (Cody), Sarah Precup (Joseph), Brieanna Mahan, and Christopher Mahan; six great grandkids, Caleb, Davin and Parker Ward, Logan and Ashton Knowles and Addyson McPheson; and a number of special nieces, nephews, extended family and friends.
