   Mrs. Christine “Chris” Harris, age 89, of Ozark, passed away Wednesday, January 25, 2023, at her home surrounded by her family.


   Funeral services will be 2:00 P.M. Monday, January 30, 2023, from First Ozark United Methodist Church with Reverend Melanie Sebastian-Foust and Reverend Dr. Billy D. Gaither officiating.


   Interment will follow in Woodlawn Memory Gardens, Holman Funeral Home of Ozark directing. The family will receive friends in the Church Monday from 12:30 P.M. until service time.


   Chris was born December 10, 1933, in Milton, Florida, to the late Hughey and Hattie Jones. She graduated from Pensacola High School in 1952. She also graduated from cosmetology school in Jacksonville, Florida. Chris worked as a cosmetologist for many years and owned her own salon while living in Pensacola. In 1986, she married Ronald (Skip) Harris and moved to Ozark. She was a co-owner in a permanent makeup business for a number of years before retiring. After retirement, Chris enjoyed volunteering for the Wiregrass Hospice and the American Red Cross where she served on many disaster operations helping those affected by natural and manmade disasters. She also served on two mission trips to Costa Rica with the United Methodist Church. Chris was a member of the First United Methodist Church of Ozark, the Kells Carroll Sunday School Class and the Red Hats Society. She was also a Master Gardener. Not only did Chris enjoy gardening, she loved spending her spare time sewing and crocheting.


   In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her two sons, Michael and Scott White and her brother and sister-in-law, Lewis and Elaine Jones.


   Survivors include her husband of 36 years, Skip Harris; her stepchildren, Ron Harris, Jr., Teri Clark, Kenny Harris (Dianne), Brian Harris (Kelli), and Nancy Gresco (Bill); fifteen grandchildren, four great-grandchildren; her brother, Marvin Jones (Geri); daughter-in-law, Toni Carman; and several nieces and nephews.


   In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Vivian B. Adams’s Scholarship Fund, 2047 Stuart Tarter Road, Ozark, Alabama 36360.
