Mrs. Bothra Cornelia Dominey Turner, age 75, a resident of Skipperville, died Sunday July 28, 2019 at Flowers Hospital after a brief illness.


Funeral services will be held at 10 a.m. Wednesday, July 31, 2019 at the Glover Funeral Home Chapel in Clayton with the Reverend Mark Brantley officiating.  Burial will follow in the Prospect Baptist Church Cemetery at Five Points with Glover Funeral Home of Clayton directing.


The family will be receiving friends from 5 p.m. until 7 p.m. Tuesday at Glover Funeral Home in Clayton.  Flowers will be accepted or memorial contributions may be made the American Kidney Fund, 11921 Rockville Pike, Suite 300, Rockville, MD. 20852 or visit kidneyfund.org.


Mrs. Turner was born on January 1, 1944 in Barbour County the daughter of Gilbert Leroy Dominey and Myrtle Green Dominey.  She lived most of her adult life in Dale County and was a member of Wesley Chapel Community Church in Echo.  Mrs. Turner retired as a Records Clerk with Wallace College in Dothan following 31 years of service.  She obtained three Associates Degrees from Wallace College.    


She was preceded in death by her parents and two brothers, Donnell and Lynwood Dominey.


Survivors include her husband of 59 years, David Lee Turner, Skipperville; 2 daughters, Reba T. Currie (Lynn), Louisville; Rhonda Turner, Ozark; a son, David Lee Turner II (Julie Mullins Turner, EDD), Montgomery; 7 grandchildren, Jason Currie (Carmen), Elba; Jeremy Currie (Ashley), Louisville; Karson Brooks, PhD, Athens, Ga.; David Michael Watson ( Lauren Skelton), Ozark; John Ryan Marse, Ozark; Nicholas Brockman, Manassas, Va.; Robert Mark White, Ozark; 5 great grandchildren, John Foster Hamm, Ruger Currie, Case Currie, Logan Underwood, and Abigail Watson; a sister, Jennie Cannon, Slocomb, sister in law, Hassie Lou Dominey, Troy; and several nieces & nephews.


Active pallbearers will be Jason Currie, Jeremy Currie, Michael Watson, John Marse, Mark White, Keith Culley.


Honorary pallbearers will be Richard Turner, Victor Turner and Bruce Aldridge.
