Mrs. Dessie H. Trawick of Slocomb passed away Monday, January 9, 2012 at Westside Terrace.  She was 96.

Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Thursday, January 12, in Sorrells Funeral Home Chapel in Slocomb with Rev. Phillip Trawick officiating and Mr. Dennis Trawick giving the eulogy.  Burial will follow at 1:00 p.m. in Cowarts Creek Cemetery with Sorrells Funeral Home of Slocomb directing. 

The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Wednesday from 5:00 until 7:00 p.m. 

Mrs. Trawick was born on July 8, 1915 in Houston County, AL to the late James L. and Lennie V. Varnum Holland.  

She was preceded in death by her husband, Elmer Trawick, a  son, Jimmy Ray Trawick; three brothers:  Chalmers Hollon, Lonnie Hollon and Odell Hollon; one sister:  Lennie B. Halstead. 

Survivors include her children:  Joann Buntin (Greg) of Ashford, Larry Gene Trawick (Janet) of Fountain, FL, Randy E. Trawick (Louise) of Slocomb, Olan Trawick (Ruby) of Columbia, Zolan Trawick of Marianna, FL, Dean Arline Braswell of Dothan, Ilona Jackson (Ted) of Daleville; one sister:  Pauline Joiner of Chipley, FL; one brother:  James L. Hollon of Chipley, FL; special daughter-in-law:  Louise Trawick of Slocomb; 18 grandchildren; 29 great grandchildren; 11 great great grandchildren;  several nieces and nephews.
