   Mrs. Emery Faye Hughes, a resident of Ozark, passed away Friday morning, December 23, 2022. She was 84 years old.


   Funeral services will be held 2:00 P.M. Tuesday, December 27, 2022, in the Chapel of Holman Funeral Home in Ozark with Reverend Josh Sims officiating.


   Interment will follow in Echo Methodist Cemetery, Holman Funeral Home Directing. The family will receive friends at the funeral home in Ozark Tuesday one hour prior to service time.


   Mrs. Hughes grew up in Ariton, Alabama where she attended Ariton school and was a member of the Baptist church. She loved to sing and write songs and poems. Mrs. Hughes loved her daughters and all her grandchildren, and was very kindhearted to everyone. She is loved and will be missed by many. Emery Faye was a Christian and Loved her Lord and Savior.


   She was preceded in death by her parents Coley and Mittie Zee Sutton Deese; sisters Theresa Nell Carson, Willie Sue Byrd, Hazel Norton and her brother Lee Roy Byrd.


   Mrs. Hughes is survived by her three daughters: Deborah Reeves (Steve), Panama City, Florida; Bonnie Murray (Greg), Ozark, AL; and Leola (Lee) Newman, Pensacola, Florida. Nine grandchildren and Twenty-one great grandchildren and 2 great great grandchildren also survive.
