Mrs. Erma J. Cooper of Samson passed away at Wiregrass Nursing Home on Saturday, January 07, 2012. She was 80. A graveside service will be held at 2:00 p.m. Sunday, January 8, 2012 at Mt. Pleasant Baptist Church Cemetery with Rev. Sam Totten & Rev. Richard Thorn officiating and Pittman Funeral Home of Samson directing.

Mrs. Cooper was born to the late Mr. & Mrs. Coy White in Coffee County, AL on October 5, 1931. She was a member of the First Baptist Church of Samson and the Bethany Sunday School Class. She was preceded in death by her husband, Orell Cooper; and two sisters, Hazel White Warnke and Gladys White Wise.

She is survived by her daughter, Ann Linton (Billy Ray) of Samson; three grandchildren, Lori Gilmore (Hank) of Samson; Jody Linton (Jana) of Enterprise and Chris Linton (Carli) of Birmingham; four great grandchildren, Chase Gilmore and Lorin Gilmore both of Samson, Connor Linton and Carter Linton, both of Birmingham; special nephew, Jerry Bedsole and wife, Dianne of Slocomb, and numerous other nieces and nephews that she loved very much.
