Obituary: Faye Myrl Kelley Crawford

August 27, 2021

 

Mrs. Faye Myrl Kelley Crawford went home to be with her Lord and Savior Friday, August 27, 2021 at Flowers Hospital. She was 82.

 

Funeral Services will be 2:00pm Sunday, August 29, 2021 at Shiloh Baptist Church with Rev. Ricky Hall and Rev. Coley M. Holloway officiating. Burial will follow in the Hartford City Cemetery with Sorrells Funeral Home of Slocomb directing.

 

The family will receive friends at the church beginning at 1:30 and continuing until service time. The family asked that everyone attending, please wear a face covering and practice social distancing.

 

Flowers will be accepted or donations could be made to Shiloh Baptist Church in her memory.

 

Her husband, Billy Crawford and a daughter, Deborah Crockrell preceded her in death.

 

Mrs. Faye was born October 16, 1938 in Holmes County, Florida to the late George and Ruby Turner Kelley. She was a 1956 graduate of Popular Springs High School where she had the honor of being the class Valedictorian. She taught school in both Florida and Alabama until her retirement in 2001. Following retirement, she continued serving in education as both a substitute and tutor. She was a longtime member of Shiloh Baptist Church.

 

Survivors include her daughter, Pamela Sewell (Dr. Joseph Sewell II), Dothan, AL, grandchildren, Billy Crockrell, James Crockrell (Joyce), Dr. Joseph Sewell III (Rebekah) and Ryan Sewell. Great Grandchildren, Harrison and Samuel Sewell, several nieces and nephews and other relatives.
