In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to First Baptist Church, 300 West Main Street, Dothan, AL 36303; Girls Inc., 785 South Foster Street, Dothan, AL 36301; or Covenant Hospice, 5041 North 12th Avenue, Pensacola, FL 32504.

Mrs. Woodall was born in Newton, Alabama, to the late Ernest and Jewell Brannon. A graduate of Newton High School, she married her high school sweetheart, Robert Woodall, Sr., on December 3, 1954. Together they built their lives serving the Lord, giving to their community, and raising their family. Mrs. Woodall was an active member of First Baptist Church of Dothan where she taught Sunday School and Training Union for many years. She remained a member of the Wayne Hannah Sunday School Class and in the last several years enjoyed God’s word in her home by television. She was an instrument of God, used by Him to encourage and mentor people of all ages also battling cancer.

Active within Dothan, Mrs. Woodall was involved in many civic organizations. She was an auxiliary member of the Dothan Service League serving as Treasurer; and through her work, she helped establish Girls, Inc., in 1969 and the Meals on Wheels program. Additionally, she served as President of the Sasanqua Garden Club, held several positions within the Dothan Homebuilders Association, was a member of the Pinckard Study Club, and supported area organizations such as the Wiregrass Museum of Art, Dothan Area Botanical Gardens, Landmark Park, SEADAC, SEACT, and the Dothan High School Show Choir where she accompanied them on many performances.

In 1967 she and her husband founded Woodall’s Sales and Service, Inc. Mrs. Woodall worked tirelessly in the business for many years as Secretary/Treasurer handling the accounting duties. Through this, she experienced many occasions to travel the world with her husband. Together they visited 51 states and 36 countries, where she enjoyed educating herself. After 23 years, they retired and enjoyed many years side by side with their many friends and family. A love for hunting and fishing, she spent many days with her husband in the woods where her family believes she was “the better shot” and on the water at Lake Eufaula as an avid bass fisherwoman collecting many “trophies” for their lake home. Mrs. Woodall also enjoyed needle pointing, painting, and writing; but most of all she loved her children and grandchildren, where she was never too tired or too sick to make everlasting memories with them.

Mrs. Woodall was preceded in death by her parents and grandparents, a special niece, Cathryn Hanners; a loving nephew, Kenneth Ivey; and brothers-and-sister-in law, Willie Woodall, Luverne Woodall, Jo Ann Woodall, Herbert Renz, Royce Hanners, and Frank Quattlebaum, Jr.

Mrs. Woodall is survived by her loving and devoted husband, Robert Woodall, Sr.; her daughters, Diann Capan (Ronnie), and Janie Woodall (Joe Mitchell); her son, Bob Woodall (Carla); her grandchildren, Haley Capan, Brannon, Jaime, Elizabeth Grace, and Robert Hemby Woodall; sisters, Hazel Hanners, Hilda Renz, Margaret Quattlebaum (Ed), Jean Quattlebaum, Barbara Mahaney (James), and Martha Barlow (Al); brother, Robert Brannon (Dot); many nieces and nephews to include a special niece, Pat Ivey; brothers- and sisters-in-law, Leon and Martha Woodall, Donnell and Carol Woodall, Glenda and Andy Marshall, Anita and Russell Lee.

Serving as pall bearers will be Brannon Woodall, Jaime Woodall, Robert Woodall, Ronnie Capan, Joe Mitchell, and Jamie Elliott.

Honorary pall bearers include Ray Anderson, Powell Brewton, Jack Carpenter, George Dennis, Tom Lester, Merlin Martin, Tom McClendon, Ansley Whatley, Edwin Whitehead, and the Wayne Hannah & Joe Culver Sunday School members.

The family would also like to express a sincere appreciation and thank you to all of her loving friends for their continued prayer and support over the years as well as Dr. Edwin Morriss, Dr. Stephen Davidson, Ruth Johnson, Rose Magwood, Nancy Webb, Westgate Church of Christ for the delicious meals delivered weekly by Ansley Whatley, and the incredible work of the caregivers of Covenant Hospice shown to their awesome wife, mother, and grandmother.
