Mrs. Frances Margaret Smith of Slocomb passed away Monday, January 16, 2012 at St. Francis Hospital in Columbus, GA.  She was 86.

Funeral services will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Wednesday, January 18, in Sorrells Funeral Home Chapel with Sorrells Funeral Home of Slocomb directing.  Burial will follow in Burns Church Cemetery.  

The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Tuesday from 5:00 until 7:00 p.m. 

Mrs. Frances was born on January 27, 1925 in Slocomb, AL to the late Travis and Tommie Smith.  She was a member of Slocomb First United Methodist Church.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband:  Stacy Smith; one son:  Guy H. Smith; a son-in-law:  Ray Brown.  

Survivors include two daughters:  Charlotte Smith of Columbus, GA, Cynthia “Shan-Tiffy” Smith of Slocomb; one son:  John T. Smith (Debbie) of Oden, Indiana; six grandchildren:  Glen, Shannon, Scott, Tiffany, Stacey and Brandon; thirteen great grandchildren; several nieces and nephews.
