Mrs. Gladys May Bass of Slocomb passed away Monday, August 20, 2012 at Extendicare Health Center.  She was 99.

Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Thursday, August 23, in the Sorrells Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Dicky McAllister and Rev. Lee Chorn officiating.  Burial will follow in New Teamon Baptist Church Cemetery with Sorrells Funeral Home of Slocomb directing.  In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the New Teamon Baptist Church Building Fund, 3813 South County Road 85, Slocomb, AL  36375. 

The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Thursday from 1:00 p.m. until service time. 

Mrs. Bass was born on July 21, 1913 in Dale County, AL to the late A.G. and Carrie Pauline Farmer Glaze. 

She was preceded in death by her husband, Oyd Bass; her parents; her brother, Ralph Glaze; and three sisters:  Rene Blount, Estelle Kent and Jewell Reeder.

Survivors include her one sister:  Bessie Powell of Panama City, FL; 13 nieces and nephews; 27 great nieces and nephews; 46 great great nieces and nephews; and four great great great nieces and nephews.
