Glenda Faye Cain of Dothan passed away Saturday, February 24, 2024 at the age of 77.



Funeral services will be held at 11 A.M. Tuesday, February 27, 2024 at Ward Wilson Funeral Home with Pastor John Baxter and Pastor Donna Cumbie officiating. Burial will follow in Memory Hill Cemetery with Ward Wilson Funeral Home directing.



The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Tuesday, February 27, 2024, one hour prior to the service. Flowers and donations will be accepted, If you wish to make a donation, donations can be made to the Wiregrass Food Bank, “Senior Brown Bag Program.’



Glenda was born January 27, 1947 in DeFuniak Springs, Florida to the late Luther and Lula Grace Woodham. She was a lifelong member of Denton Road Methodist Church. She was a graduate of Dothan High School and Troy State University. She had a lifelong career of 30 plus years as the circulation librarian for Houston County Library in Dothan, Alabama.



Glenda was a special person in that she always saw the good in everything, and she was always ready for an adventure. If it wasn’t something she really wanted to do, she was all in because the company was good and everyone had a good time. Glenda enjoyed cooking for her family and friends. She was famous for her pickles and satsuma jelly and freezer soup, which she enjoyed sharing with everyone.



Glenda had a lot of hobbies. There was nothing she couldn’t grow and nothing she couldn’t catch. She loved to fish off her dock at her second home at Lake Eufaula. When nobody else could get a bite, she continued to reel them in.



Glenda never backed down from a challenge. She loved to work on puzzles, especially the 1000 pieces, because she enjoyed the challenge, and always finished. She was a very avid reader and always had two books going at anytime. She had a love a love for music, and was blessed with a beautiful soprano voice. She always enjoyed being in the church choir and participating in singing events. Glenda was a sweet soul and she loved and cared for all her love ones in ways that were not always seen, but always known.


She leave to cherish her memory special lifelong friend for over 40 years J’Lane Watson and her family Jason and Emily Watson, several cousins and friends including Cindy and Bruce Turberville, Ben and Scott Tuberville, Tom Pollino, and her beloved gaming and lunch Lutheran Church Family.



Glenda was an only child whose friends were her family, not family by blood, but by love.



Her memory and legacy will live on in the love she gave to her family and friends.


Serving as pallbearers willbe Scott Turberville, Ben Turberville, Mike Davis, Ryan Nolin, Danny Branton and Ashley Givens.
