OZARK… Mrs. Gloria Shehane Scurlock, a resident of Ozark, died Tuesday morning, July 26, 2022, in a Dothan hospital. She was 73.

            Funeral services will be held at 2:00 P.M. Friday, July 29, 2022, in the Fuqua Bankston Funeral Home Chapel with Pastor Brian Presley officiating. Burial will follow in Woodlawn Memory Gardens. The family will receive friends from 1:00 until 2:00 P.M. Friday at the funeral home.

            Flowers will be accepted, or memorial contributions may be made to the American Cancer Society, P.O. Box 22478, Oklahoma City, OK 73123.

            Mrs. Scurlock was born April 2, 1949, in the Arguta Community of Dale County. She has lived in the Ozark area most of her lifetime. Mrs. Scurlock owned and operated a home daycare for thirty-four years. She enjoyed fishing, sewing, crochet, and University of Alabama football. Mrs. Scurlock was preceded in death by her mother, Mellie Shehane Howell; husbands, Douglas Childree and Ben Scurlock.

            Surviving relatives include her daughter, Michelle Enfinger (Tommy), Clio; a son, Derrick Childree (Andrea), Ozark; three grandchildren, Brittany Wilkerson, Hannah Sikes, and R. J. Wilkerson; nine great-grandchildren, Haylee LaFont, Zacc LaFont, Emmett LaFont, Selena Wilkerson, Waylon Sikes, Emma June Sikes, Ehlias Wilkerson, Aleki Wilkerson, and Tashawn Majors.

            The family would like to thank Trish Chancey for her loving care and support for Mrs. Scurlock.
