Irene Catrett Morris, 96 of Dothan, beloved wife, mother, sister, grandmother, great-grandmother, great-great grandmother and friend, passed away peacefully on Thursday March 1, 2012 at her home, surrounded by her loving daughters and son-in-law and her dear sister.


Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m. Sunday, March 4, 2012 at Southern Heritage Funeral Home with Brothers Hosea Parker and James Bell officiating. Burial will follow in the Gardens of Memory cemetery. The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 1-2 p.m. on Sunday March 4, 2012 -1 hour prior to the service. Flowers will be accepted or donations can be made to Hospice Care of Dothan 3245 Montgomery Highway Suite 8 Dothan, Alabama 36303 or Smyrna Baptist Church 1800 Huskey road Dothan, Alabama 36303.


Irene was born April 24, 1915 in Pike County, Alabama, and was a member of Smyrna Baptist Church in Dothan. She was a wonderful wife, mother, grandmother and friend to many and made an ever-lasting impression on all who knew and loved her. She will be deeply missed and her loving memories forever cherished.


Irene was preceded in death by husbands- Felton Catrett and Charlie Morris, one son Fox Franklin Catrett, one grandson Kenneth Wayne Harrison, her parents and six brothers.


Irene is survived by her children, Jack L. Catrett, Texas, Ethel (Quincy) Simpler, Dothan, Henry (Charlotte) Catrett, Pensacola, Fl., Cathy Spann, Bobby G. Catrett, Betty (Frank) Koontz, all of Dothan, Judy Catrett Sheridan, Destin, Fl, Shirley Catrett Robinson, Dothan, Nelda Catrett-daughter-in-law, Dothan; one sister, Louise Tomlin, Luverne, AL and Pete Morris -stepson, North Carolina. Ten grand- children, Gail (Tommy) Murphy, Doug (Ann) Butler, Randy Butler, Bronson (Erica) Butler, Henry Catrett, Lisa Synol, Salean Wood, Teresa (Alan) Brady, Robert (Summer) Koontz, Amanda (Joe) Comer; Step Grand Children - Tim Koontz, Randy Koontz, Ken Koontz, Alan Morris and Diana Forrester; 24 great grandchildren and 12 great-great grandchildren.


Pallbearers will be Robert Koontz, Alan Brady (grandsons), Wayne Brady, Greg Wilson (great grandsons), Jack Lawrence and Stanley Lawrence (nephews).
