SKIPPERVILLE…Mrs. Jewel Dykes Andrews, a resident of the Salem Community, near Skipperville, died Sunday morning, January 22, 2023, in the Ozark Health & Rehabilitation Center. She was 93.


            Celebration of Life Services will be held at 2:00 P.M. Saturday, January 28, 2023, in the Fuqua Bankston Funeral Home Chapel with Reverend Harold Peters officiating. Burial will follow in Salem Baptist Church Cemetery. Fuqua Bankston Funeral Home of Ozark is in charge of arrangements. The family will receive friends from 1:00 until 2:00 P.M. Saturday at the funeral home.


            In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Alzheimer’s Resource Center, 1314 Westgate Parkway, Suite 2, Dothan, Alabama 36301.


            Mrs. Andrews, daughter of the late Luther J. Segars and Lillie M. Shehane Segars, was a native of Barbour County. She was retired from Dale Medical Center in Ozark as a dietician after twenty-five years of employment. Mrs. Andrews was also a Pink Lady volunteer at the hospital for many years. She was a member of Salem Baptist Church. Mrs. Andrews was preceded in death by her husbands, Hugh E. Dykes and William B. Andrews; a daughter, Rhoda Dykes Baker.


            Surviving relatives include her daughter, Tammy Martin (Barry), Skipperville; several nieces, nephews, and cousins.
